Polarization-sensitive IR-pump–x-ray-probe spectroscopy

چکیده

X-ray absorption and core-ionization spectra of molecules pumped by two coherent infrared pulses with different polarizations are studied theoretically. We have found a sensitivity the vibrational profile x-ray probe to IR pulses. This polarization dependence is qualitatively for photoelectron spectra. Measurements this allow select difference in Franck-Condon distributions from lowest levels electronic ground state. The proposed technique exemplified numerically using CO molecule. also show that kind pump-probe spectroscopy can enable studies dynamics molecular rotation.

Near IR spectroscopy of candidate B[e]/X-ray binaries

We present near IR spectra (0.8–2.5μm) of the two candidate B[e]/X-ray binary systems CI Cam/XTE J0421+560 and HD34921/1H 0521+37. The spectra of both systems show evidence for a more complex circumstellar environment than those seen in classical Be/X-ray binaries. Strong H i and He i emission is seen, confirming the presence of a dense circumstellar wind; O i, Fe ii and [Fe ii] emission in CI ...

Study of grain boundary polarization by two-probe and four-probe impedance spectroscopy

Four-probe impedance spectra of polycrystalline cation conductors: NASICON, Na b0-alumina and Ag b0-alumina, were measured in the frequency range from 10 Hz to 100 kHz with the aid of high sensitivity, high input impedance preamplifiers. Dispersion associated with the grain boundary polarization was observed below room temperature. The frequency dependent part of the conductivity of grain inter...

Combining scanning probe microscopy and x-ray spectroscopy

A new versatile tool, combining Shear Force Microscopy and X-Ray Spectroscopy was designed and constructed to obtain simultaneously surface topography and chemical mapping. Using a sharp optical fiber as microscope probe, it is possible to collect locally the visible luminescence of the sample. Results of tests on ZnO and on ZnWO4 thin layers are in perfect agreement with that obtained with oth...

Picosecond laser-pump, x-ray probe spectroscopy of GaAs

A laser-pump, x-ray probe spectroscopic experiment is described, and the results are shown. The Ga Ka x-ray fluorescence following x-ray absorption, at the Ga K absorption edge was measured, and its increase due to excitation with subpicosecond pulses of laser light at 4.6 eV photon energy was determined. The x-ray absorption, and thus the fluorescence, is increased for about 200 ps after the l...

Resonant Polarization Spectroscopy for Hot X-ray Plasmas

X-ray line polarization spectroscopy is a method of choice for probing hot plasma conditions. The precise roles of resonant structures in this method have not been realized and fully understood. With a sophisticated relativistic close coupling Dirac R-matrix calculation of polarized radiation of the quadrupole magnetic M2 line at 2.717 Å in Ba, we revealed the nature of resonant structures in x...
